Franken announcing candidacy for Sen. tomorrow (POLL)?

"Democrats said they expected a lively competition for the party's nomination. Possible candidates range from Minneapolis lawyer Mike Ciresi, who ran against Dayton in the 2000 primary, to radio show host Al Franken, who told The Associated Press he would make an announcement on his show Thursday."

Anyone have any thoughts on this?  Mine are below :

I hate that this seat could go Republican but I'm not ready to sink AAR to save.  My belief has always been that Franken wants to defeat Coleman and take Wellstone's seat back so my guess is the announcement will be that he's not pursuing the seat.

Thoughts?  Scoops?
